“Working with Hadassah was such a meaningful experience, and it's likely that words will fall short for articulating this. Over the past 8 years I've seen 6+ therapists, from interns graduating, insurance changes, and furloughs during the pandemic, having to start from the beginning with a new individual became common place. Yet, in working with Hadassah something felt different. In our sessions she frequently made me feel seen, heard, and validated. When I shared my experiences around identities she didn't possess, she ask questions of curiosity and often did research and would come back with new insights. There have also been instances where she's advocated for me while I've sought related medical treatment, and was incredibly flexible when it came to scheduling sessions during life transitions. As someone who holds several marginalized identities I never thought I would find a space where I could show up as my most authentic self. Even in the dearest friendships, there's often something lost in translation. I am so incredibly grateful for the space that Hadassah has held for me. I have shared countless moments from my sessions with friends and loved ones and had several people close to me highlight the growth they saw in my time with her. To say I'm thankful would be an understatement. I hope to work with Hadassah again soon, and feel empowered as I venture into an unknown season ahead. Her ability to intertwine genuine empathy, her own lived experiences and trauma informed modalities has helped me understand that self-compassion is within reach, that my trauma isn't the end of my story, and that although I've frequently been told the opposite, that I am profoundly capable of handling what life throws at me. She has poignantly illustrated the ways in which "healing is a beautiful legacy to leave behind" and I am the better for it.”
